11+ Group
The idea of this group is to offer a programme of
work and activities that captures the interest and enthusiasm of the children as
they move beyond Sunday School and an opportunity to consider the place of the
church and their faith in the world; to provide age-appropriate worship; to help
them to shape their views on important issues; and to guide and support them as
they grow as Christians.
The 11+ group Sunday meetings take place once a month (usually on the first
Sunday of the month), and this is normally at the Tea House in Bracknell Town
Centre. Everyone has a shared breakfast from 9 am, which is a fun way to get to
know each other and a useful opportunity for some informal learning. We then
progress to worship, the lesson, which includes Bible study and a teaching
session on a particular theme with plenty of audio visual aids and often a
lively debate! A craft or role play activity follows with time at the end for
reflection and prayer as we draw to a close just after 11 o'clock.
Activities 2006-2007
Our activities up to December 2007 will be centred on the Youth Emmaus 2.
"What in a nutshell is Youth Emmaus 2?
It's a fourteen-session interactive discipleship course for young people, 7
on "big issues" and 7 on "Holy Spaces" designed to help 11 to 16 year olds
integrate their faith into life and to equip them as worshippers and disciples."
Big Issues (Sessions 1-7)
Tackles Jesus' sermon on the mount - engages with issues such as poverty and
injustice, forgiveness and reconciliation, dreams and passions.
Holy Spaces (Sessions 8-14)
These explore creative ways of worshipping together - from protest to
praise.

adaptation of the upstairs meeting room at St.Andrew's for future youth group
evenings.
- A wide game at the lookout
The fortnightly meetings are for fun, building fellowship, exploring the

worship.
