Team News
Teens Group
Our Teens group meets every two weeks at St
Andrew’s, from 5 -7pm on a Sunday evening. This group compliments the children’s
ministry of each Church in the Parish, and the 11+ group that meets on the first
Sunday of the month. Full details of times and programme from Andrew Frearson.
Ministry Team
Our Parish Ministry Team has its first meeting for a while at the
beginning of July. We hope to develop new opportunities for worship, study and
pastoral care in the Parish – watch the magazine and weekly news sheet for
details.
Child Protection Represetative
Joan Lindsay, of Holy Trinity, has agreed to take on this vital role
for the Parish. Along with Dave Turner as co-ordinator, and children’s advocates
in each Church (to be formally appointed by the PCC soon) we will have a renewed
team and procedures in place to ensure Bracknell Team Ministry is a safe place
for children.
New Groups
As well as the Ministry team, we are creating a Resources and Finance
team, chaired by our treasurer, Richard Beaumont, This will look after
buildings, stewardship and personnel matters. We will also have a team looking
at Mission and Evangelism, chaired by Adrian Ball of St Paul’s. If you would
like to join one of these new teams, please contact the Chairperson for a chat
about the work of the team (you can contact the via the Parish Office).
Open Day At Christ Church Cathedral

News from Holy Trinity
All Age Worship
We have begun our experiment of having all age worship on the third Sunday of
each month at 10am. These have been well supported and thanks re due to those
who have planned these services so well.
Real Coffee
We are now serving freshly brewed Fairtrade coffee after services, and for
midweek meetings at Langley Hall. We hope you enjoy it, and enjoy the fellowship
that goes with it!
Sunday School
Julia Powell is to be our new Sunday School co-ordinator. Gifts were presented
to Tracey Williams for her service in this role and also to Fiona Goodhand for
her long service as secretary to the committee.
Sung Evensong
Advance notice that our choir will treat us to a Sung Evensong on July 15 at
6.30pm. A lot of work goes into this, and it would be wonderful to have a good
congregation for this service.
Thank You For Your Ministry
Tracey Williams has kindly taken on the task of listing all the various jobs
done by people in front of, and behind the scenes at HT. It is a long and
varied list, and a real reminder of the contribution made by so many people

News from St Andrew's
Worship Space
The alterations to the layout of the church have been well received by most of
the congregation and visitors, although we should not pretend that the changes
are to everyone's liking. The seats are now arranged so that the people
sitting at each side of the church are facing each other, rather than the
previous (more "traditional") arrangement in which everyone faced directly
towards the altar. The font is now in the centre, and the lectern is placed at
the back of the church. Some of the seats have been removed from the main body
of the church and the overall effect of the changes is to give a greater effect
of spaciousness. The new arrangement is also more flexible. For example, the
preacher can see and be seen easily by the congregation whether they preach from
the front or the back of the church.
Bracknell Team Ministry Confirmation Service
On 30 April St. Andrew's hosted this service, which was a very happy
and uplifting occasion. Bishop Stephen said how surprised and delighted he was
at the new layout of the church. A Confirmation service is always a very special
occasion but this service felt extra special. One of the adult members of St.
Andrew’s congregation was Baptised and Confirmed at this service.
Sunday School and Crèche
The Sunday School goes from strength to strength both in terms of
numbers and confidence of the children who take part in it. Once a child can
overcome the initial shyness of speaking in front of the congregation, they are
perfectly capable of making themselves heard easily without the aid of a
microphone.
In the past few weeks a Crèche has been started for the younger children during
the Sunday morning service. As with the Sunday school, the children in the
Crèche are given the opportunity to show the rest of the congregation what they
have done and learnt during their session, and we have had some wonderful
prayers from our children.

News from St Paul's
Children’s Club
St Paul's has a growing Children’s Club and so we have made some
changes to help the leaders stay sane
First we now have two All Age Services a month. This is good news because it
bring variety into our services as well as helps the church family to grow
together.
Second we are appealing to the other churches for people who are called to
Children’s work and are fully CRB checked to come to join our team of leaders
and helpers. If you are in a position to help please call Tricia Feather on
453514.
The monthly Prayer Meeting
This is held on the first Saturday of a month at 8.30am in St Paul's
Church. Followed by breakfast if Catherine has remembered to bring the bacon! It
is at the moment usually attended by St Paul's people, both URC and Anglican,
but it would be lovely to welcome people from other churches to pray with us for
our world, our country and our church. The next meeting is the 7th July
School Links
Both Harmans water School and Crown Wood School have links with our
church and Crown Wood did their annual visit in May and we look forward to
welcoming Harmans Water in July.
The children seem to thoroughly enjoy their visits to our church and send us
lovely letters afterwards.
Baptisms
This ministry continues to grow at St Paul's and a huge vote of
thanks to Jenny and Steven Colby for all their support. Our last service was
attended by over 100 people and it was lovely to see the church so full and see
so many people enjoying the service
Full Church Meeting
Our next Full Church Meeting will be on September 16th and both
congregations will meet to plan our autumn and Christmas services
