The Holy Trinity choir is led by the organist and Choir Master, Geoffrey Knight.
We practise on Sunday morning starting at 10am and finishing just before the
Parish Communion. Our repertoire of church music is very wide-ranging. We lead
the singing in the services and sing the occasional special service in addition
to the normal Sunday parish communion, when we regularly sing an anthem. We are
a happy robed choir and would welcome young singers in all parts.

Introducing new choristers to Holy Trinity church choir
When a potential chorister enquires about joining the choir, to get to know
their capabilities and explain the role and commitment of the choir, the
following informal process will normally be used:
1. He/she will be asked to come along and join in the next choir practice, to
experience the way the hymns, service settings and anthems are rehearsed and so
we can get to know their voice range and capabilities.
2. After choir practice, when the voice is warmed up, the new chorister will be
asked to sing a verse or two of a couple of hymns, standing round the organ
console, while Geoffrey plays and Christine and Neil listen to confirm the voice
part that the new chorister should sing. If the abilities of the new chorister
are already known to the choir, then this may not be required.
3. Geoffrey, Christine and Neil will have a short discussion to check that
everything is ok and agree the voice part that the new chorister should sing.
4. The new chorister will be asked to sit in the congregation for that Sunday's
service, adjacent to Geoffrey and with a full set of the music required, plus
the hymn sheet, so that he/she can see what part the choir plays in the service.
5. After 3 above and before the end of the service, the new chorister will be
welcomed to the choir and the commitments for the next few Sundays explained.
Choristers should follow these basic principles:-
• Sing correct notes
• Sing in tune
• Sing audibly
• Pronounce words clearly
