When?
At 9:10am on all Sundays except the 3rd Sunday of the month when we all meet
in Church for the family/all age service.
Where?
In Langley Hall next door to church
What age range?
We have 3 groups:
· 3+ preschool and infants,
· Years 3 & 4
· Years 5 & 6
What if my children are older than primary school
age?
We hold a separate group for the senior school children called bible class,
meeting at the same time as Sunday school except on the 1st Sunday of the
month when they meet up at the Young persons group run at the tea house in
town for all the churches in the Bracknell team ministry, The Bible class is
run by the Sunday school team, for details contact the Sunday school
coordinator Ruth Powell. For details of the young persons group please
contact Sister Jenny Colby and Steven Colby - 01344 411833.
Do the children come into church?
Yes, just in time to go up for communion or a blessing. We go up together as
a group at the very end then sit on the carpet at the front to ‘show and
tell’ what we have been doing in Sunday school. Children will return to
their parents during the closing hymn. However, there is only a communion on
the 2nd and 4th Sundays of the month. On the days where there is no
communion, i.e. 1st and 5th Sundays, we will stay in the hall waiting for
collection. The children will be offered juice and a biscuit at the end of
the lesson and will stay seated at their table so you can concentrate on
getting a cuppa for yourself when you come in!
What do they do in Sunday school?
Whilst the children arrive and are checked in on the register by their
adult, they will be given a choice of a colouring in picture or word search
to do at their table whilst everyone else arrives. We will start with
prayers and then start the lessons which will consist of a bible story and a
related activity/craft.
What if my child is shy?
It can be difficult for children to start a new group, especially if they
don’t know anyone. Please feel free to stay with your child in Sunday school
whilst they settle in. Alternatively, if your child is unhappy, one of the
leaders will bring them to you in church.
What about registering?
The first time you bring your child to church you will be given a
registration form to fill in so that we have a record of your child’s name,
birthday and medical details. This is to form part of our parish commitment
to care for your child.
What if I want to know more before sending my child
to Sunday school?
If you have any questions or worries about how your child will fit into
Sunday school, please don’t hesitate to speak to one of the Sunday school
leaders who will try to put your mind at rest. Alternatively contact the
coordinator Ruth Powell on Ruth@ricv.co.uk or 07761 967093.
